User:Historynut101 has replaced the date of birth 1767, referenced to Spalding, with 1769, referenced to Jenkins, a genealogy website. It is not a good idea to simply delete a reference if there is some ambiguity as is the case here. Sources giving 1767 include: Spalding; 1910 Britannica [1]; Burke's Peerage [2]. Leslie Stephens DNB gives 1766. Boase's Modern English Biography [3] gives 1769. I venture to suggest that (1) 1767 is the consensus in sources (2) replacing a sourced date without discussion is an unwise way to proceed. Cusop Dingle (talk) 20:41, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Very belated and just for the record since it can't be used directly (primary source), ancestry.com has a photocopy of the registry for the Bristol Monthly Meeting for the relevant years and has Joseph Storrs Fry's birth as 6th month 18th day 1767 (i.e., June 18) with parents Joseph and Anna Fry.
