[edit]I have removed the following from this article:
- A squadron of Ghanaians from UNAMIR had been charged with his protection. However, when confronted by the Hutu militants, they turned Kavaruganda over to certain death. After assassinating him, the Hutu killers attacked his wife and daughters, all while the UNAMIR troops laughed and drank with them.
- The United Nations confirmed the veracity of this incident in its official inquiry into the UN's role in the genocide.
This is written in a highly inflammatory manner. If the account is true, it needs to be sourced. In any case, it needs to be rewritten to be less inflammatory; in particular, it might be useful to mention that UNAMIR troops could not fire unless fired upon. --Saforrest July 6, 2005 12:31 (UTC)
- This is rather after-the-fact, but I did find a source for basically this claim, and re-included it. --Saforrest 21:35, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
