Last word and death

In his new book, The Body - a guide for occupants, Bill Bryson starts chapter 7, The Heart and Blood, with a quote from Green. " 'Stopped' - Last word of Joseph Henry Green (1791-1863) while feeling his own pulse". Seems unlikely, if he did indeed die from a seizure, as mentioned in this article (and has a citation needed added). After searching for a while, it appears to be taken from the very works of JHG, as edited by his friend Sir John Simon. As he says : "[He] visibly noted to himself the successive feeble pulses which were but just between him and death. Presently he said 'stopped'; And this was the very end."
