[edit]There is very little known about this inventor. I do not think its a good idea to let him fade into history. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Canter24 (talk • contribs) 23:21, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Please see User talk:Mattinbgn#Joseph Coyetty and User talk:Corvus cornix#Joseph Coyetty and copyright for my views on the alleged "copyright violation" in this article. -- Mattinbgn\ talk 04:23, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
- Note this follows a previously unsuccessful attempt to speedy delete this article from the same editor here. -- Mattinbgn\ talk 04:28, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
- Actually there were a few cut and paste lines of text in that article. I removed them and stubbed the article. If you wish to expand it, please do so with verifiable information, but write the text in your own words.--Isotope23 talk 15:58, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
- Three points: 1. I didn't write the article and haven't added to the article text at all as a simple check would have shown you. I do know how Wikipedia works. 2. Funnily enough, the administrator reviewing the {{db-copyvio}} tag didn't see any copyright violation. I am not saying that the author did not lean heavily on the uncredited source and used more of the source text that I would like but a unquestionable copyright violation (WP:CSD#G12)it was not. 3. Your additions have improved the article out of sight. Well done. -- Mattinbgn\ talk 20:07, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
- My original message wasn't addressed specifically to you Mattinbgn, that was a general message to anyone editing this article to follow WP:V and avoid cut and paste. sorry if that wasn't clear.--Isotope23 talk 11:55, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

Coyetty or Gayetty?
[edit]Our Toilet paper article gives his name as "Joseph Gayetty", not "Coyetty". Both names get Google hits, though Gayetty seems to win in that regard (although at least partially due to a modern namesake). Does anyone have an authoritative reference that could settle this matter? —Ilmari Karonen (talk) 17:18, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
- Good catch; I'm going to go ahead and be bold with a move to Joseph Gayetty as it appears there are more reliable sources reporting that name.--Isotope23 talk 18:32, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
Sources modified on Joseph Gayetty
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just attempted to maintain the sources on Joseph Gayetty. I managed to add archive links to 1 source, out of the total 1 I modified, whiling tagging 0 as dead.
Please take a moment to review my changes to verify that the change is accurate and correct. If it isn't, please modify it accordingly and if necessary tag that source with {{cbignore}}
to keep Cyberbot from modifying it any further. Alternatively, you can also add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page's sources altogether. Let other users know that you have reviewed my edit by leaving a comment on this post.
Below, I have included a list of modifications I've made:
- Added archive http://web.archive.org/web/20140328060656/http://quiltednorthern.com/timeline.html to http://www.quiltednorthern.com/timeline.html
