Possible match

On Olympedia, it states that Schejbal died in the United States. I looked on newspapers.com for any articles and there's a man with that name claiming asylum in the US in 1949. He was a Czechoslovakian government official who quit his job as soon as he reached the US. Some of the articles say he was a Brigadier General who was appointed as a military and air attache for the embassy. I've linked a couple -
