His work was to secure a supply of quality wood for Austro - Hungarian Navy.

[edit]

I suggest replacing that sentence by "His work was to secure a supply of quality wood for Austrian Navy." Reason: The Austro-Hungarian Empire was founded in 1867 only, 10 years after Ressel's death.

John Fitch's death

[edit]

There's something wrong either with this article or with John Fitch's article. This article states John Fitch made a screw propeller in 1804, but the article on John Fitch himself states he died in 1798. How could he have made a propeller after he died, unless it's a different John Fitch this article is referring to? — Preceding unsigned comment added by SQMeaner (talkcontribs) 08:02, 10 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Nationality

[edit]

If Ressel is an Austrian, why other Czechs living at the same time are described as Czechs on the Wikipedia (except for the most famous Czechs as Johann Gregor Mendel, Ferdinand Porsche, Husserl, Ernst Mach,...). It doesn't make any sense. Annikahegarova (talk) 15:24, 17 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
