A lot of people think his real name is José, but actually is Isidro. A famous announcer, Dr. Alfonso Morales, started calling him José for no apparent reason. And since he is such a famous announcer, the name got stuck in everybody's mind.
First of all, excuse me for my poor english. Now:
His real name is Pipino, not José. He has stated it many times, last of them in Argentina's newspaper "La Nación" (sports section: Canchallena), on May 19th (http://canchallena.lanacion.com.ar/1583234-pipino-cuevas-yo-me-preparaba-para-pelear-veinte-rounds). He said: "Todos piensan que es un apodo, pero Pipino es un nombre italiano. Yo me llamo Pipino Isidro Cuevas González. No me llamo José, me canso de aclararlo y siguen sacando José..." ("Everybody think that it's a nickname, but Pipino is an italian name. My name is Pipino Isidro Cuevas González. I'm not José. I'm tired of correcting it, but they are still putting José..."). The article must be changed. I didn't do so because I dont know how to change the article title. --Sumbutrule (talk) 11:31, 20 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
