- ... that jorts (pictured) are often associated with uncool dads, but have also been associated with 1960s counterculture, punk music, New York hip hop, skateboarding, raves, queer fashion, and "Brat summer"?

- Or a shorter version:
- ALT0b: ... that despite being worn by uncool dads, jorts (pictured) are also associated with 1960s counterculture, punks, rappers, skaters, queer fashion, and "Brat summer"?
Yeah this should be good to go. New enough as it was moved from draftspace to mainspace within the last week, and also long enough. It's well-sourced and Earwig tool doesn't pop up with a high % of copyvio possibility. Article is indeed presentable and the hook is interesting, cited, and short enough. I personally prefer either of the images in the article's lede over the one used in the hook, but that one is also acceptable. QPQs are done here. Interesting article/subject and one that I would've thought would have been covered on Wikipedia a long time ago already, so this is great. Soulbust (talk) 00:12, 17 December 2024 (UTC)
- I have no strong preference about the image to use. I think the lead image of women's jorts is a really good photo, but the other one in the lead is the style more commonly called "jorts". So if you approve of both images, we can defer to the promoter's opinion on which to use. (Also, thanks! My main reason for creating this article was surprise that it didn't exist already.) — Vigilant Cosmic Penguin 🐧 (talk | contribs) 02:05, 17 December 2024 (UTC)
Assumptions
[edit]The article was worded seems to assume most jorts are homemade and not store-bought. Sources don't seem to support that from what I can tell. Any sort of evidence out there? By anecdotal experience it would seem to me most are store-bought, but maybe I'm not on the Jort scene enough anymore. ~Darth StabroTalk • Contribs 15:26, 1 January 2025 (UTC)
- Upon rereading the source, I think you're right. The source's phrasing is "most jorters I spoke with", which doesn't necessarily mean it applies to the majority of all jorts. — Vigilant Cosmic Penguin 🐧 (talk | contribs) 19:03, 1 January 2025 (UTC)
