Harrison, Stephen (26 July 2021). "How to Use Wikipedia When You're Watching the Olympics". Slate. Retrieved 27 July 2021. At press time, some of the key athletes on the United States women's and men's gymnastics teams, including stars like Jordan Chiles and Brody Malone, do not yet have featured images on their respective Wikipedia pages.
According to the Associated Press: It's unclear whether Chiles will be forced to return her medal. The federation, known as FIG, said while it has restored the initial order of finish — with Barbosu third, Romanian teammate Sabrina Maneca-Voinea fourth and Chiles fifth — the organization added that the allocation of medals was up to the International Olympic Committee. Until such point that the IOC reallocates the bronze medal, I don't see a basis to remove it from this article. Some discussion about the underlying situation would be helpful to give readers context, however. Aoi (青い) (talk) 20:48, 10 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
MSNBC is reporting, though I don't have time to track down a URL, in the Romanian appeal, a request was made both Chiles and Bărbosu both be awarded the Bronze medal. The International Olympic Committee did not agree (as noted in the following paragraph of the article), though the prose could make it more clear. Symmerhill (a.k.a.
