Material known earlier
[edit]I don't know if this is worth a separate section, but at least it should be addressed in "Background and Recording": all the material from the "Second Fret," along with the radio performance on the Folklore show in Philadelphia, has circulated as a bootleg tape for at least 40 years. I had a reel-to-reel copy and played it over the airwaves at Goddard College's WGDR in 1980. We used to claim it was recorded at Goddard, which was transparently wrong. Rolling Stone notes in its review only that "some [songs] have circulated on bootlegs." Does anyone know a reliable source on this? -- I couldn't find much out there.
