[edit]I think the Cup victory (woohoo!) should be mentioned in the intro paragraph, but this sentence trails off and doesn't make sense: "Toews competes internationally for Team Canada and has won gold medals at the 2005 World U-17 Hockey Challenge, 2006 and 2007 World Junior Championships, 2007 World Championships, 2010 Winter Olympics (a tournament in which he was named Best Forward), and the Stanley Cup in 2010." He didn't compete internationally for the Stanley Cup... 68.151.117.45 (talk) 04:04, 12 June 2010 (UTC)
Also, should a photo of Toews holding the Cup be added, similar to the photo on the Sidney Crosby article? 68.151.117.45 (talk) 01:05, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
- If you have such a photo that would be great. —Krm500 (Communicate!) 01:41, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
- There is a picture of Toews holding the Conn-Smythe Trophy in the achievements section, with Kane standing next to him holding the Stanley Cup. Feel free to look on Flickr for more freely licensed images - more free and good images would be awesome. -- StarScream1007 ►Talk 15:25, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
Based upon your own pronunciation etymology, it seeems his name should be pronounced "TOOVES", not "TAYVES". The O-umlaut is usually pronounced as a loong - or double - "o", e.g., "ooh". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.39.205.57 (talk) 19:26, 10 June 2013 (UTC) my buddy pronounced "bunnie" — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marsman29 (talk • contribs) 00:42, 19 February 2014 (UTC)

- The link does not work. In order to comply with Wikipedia's policies, all libelous information must be sourced with a reliable source (WP:RS). While the information may in fact be true, it needs a proper, working citation. -- StarScream1007 ►Talk 03:15, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
- This Story from College Hockey News, claims Toews was busted for being at a bar as a minor. I'll still keep an eye out for another story. -- StarScream1007 ►Talk 04:02, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

- Some of the sources on Google, ex Blogs and forums, are not considered "reliable." However, I'm looking over thoese sources to see if i can find more reliable sources. Here are 2 other stories confirms Toews' first violation [2][3][4]. -- StarScream1007 ►Talk 12:54, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

Hello, I am a huge Jonathan Toews fan and have a simple request. It seems that every time I go onto this page I get annoyed as I see the picture being used on the page is quite old. I have an account and of course cannot change it as the page is protected. As for this request, I'm wondering if you could change the picture to one of him more relative, newer or at least from 2013. It's not a big deal but you can see where I'm coming from.
Thanks, Andrew Andsarkis (talk) 15:44, 17 May 2014 (UTC)
- Andrew, thank you for your suggestion. The pictures in Toews' article are old, but they are free. We are limited to only using non-commercial, open-source, and freely-licensed images. This means we cannot use any images that are taken by official NHL personnel or other media sources like Yahoo! Sports or ESPN. There are a few free images on Flickr, here, but none or from 2013 or feature a close look at his face. We'll keep our eyes open for a better pic. - StarScream1007 ►Talk 16:23, 17 May 2014 (UTC)
- Update: Here are two free pictures I found of Toews and uploaded. They are newer but not as detailed or nice: [5][6] -- StarScream1007 ►Talk 16:38, 17 May 2014 (UTC)

Bottom of the page needs to be updated. He is no longer the incumbent of the Selke award - Patrice Bergeron is (same man who preceded him)
minor factual edit, but couldnt do it myself due to lock of this page

[edit]What is the point of those videos of when he was 10 in the external links? This man is in the Triple Gold Club, won 2 Stanley Cups as captain, and 2 Gold Medals in the Olympic. He is one of the best hockey players alive, but the external links have 2 videos of when he was 10? If there are videos, they should be more recent videos. Honestly it feels like an advertisement for http://www.brickhockeyhighlights.com. Why wouldn't they just link directly to the youtube video instead of this intermediary website? Crosby doesn't have any video highlights. If people deem video highlights are ok, they should at least be modern highlights.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:38df:4d39:70ca:d5f2:840e:c5f9 (talk • contribs) 16:26, 28 June 2014

Between 17:05 and 17:07, 25 January 2015, during edits made by "Adambadger", an asterisk went missing. I thank anyone who places it back to Awards and honors -> NHL All-Star, year 2012. Otherwise, the footnote at the end of that section (* Did not attend due to injury) makes no sense. 91.157.60.67 (talk) 19:47, 15 June 2015 (UTC)

Please change the description of Jonathan Toews as the second youngest captain in NHL history after Sidney Crosby. Toews was the third youngest captain, after both Vincent Lecavalier and Sidney Crosby. Johnghenderson (talk) 03:23, 27 December 2016 (UTC)
- Done - Multiple sources confirm this [7][8][9]. I left the information David and Landeskog were named captains at younger ages, but added a source. -- StarScream1007 ►Talk 04:31, 27 December 2016 (UTC)

[edit]The article says Toews is one of 6 players to win the stanley cup/gold medal in the same year, but Drew Doughty and Jeff Carter did it in 2014 bringing the total to 8 (Morrow, Shanahan, Yzerman, Keith, Seabrook, Toews, Carter, and Doughty) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Stuhdot (talk • contribs) 16:48, 16 June 2017 (UTC)
