Input wanted

[edit]

@Dodger67 and Sasuke Sarutobi: This is the start of the article for JASCO. I would appreciate input and constructive editsOldperson (talk) 05:48, 5 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Oldperson I've fixed a few reference typos. I'm afraid I have no knowledge of the topic so my assistance is limited to typos and technicalities. The page needs a lead (without a heading) that clearly identifies/defines the subject and briefly summarizes the article. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 12:23, 5 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Dodger67I amflummoxed, I think I understand what you mean. The heading is:Joint Assault Signal Teams, Pacific Theater, and the summary is under that. I tried to move it to Draft:Joint Assault Signal Teams, Pacific Theater, but got an error message about a double name space which I don't recognize. What am I doing wrong?Oldperson (talk) 16:51, 5 January 2019 (UTC) @Yngvadottir: I hope I am not imposing, again, but could you tell me how to put a draft template on the Draft page of this article? ThanksOldperson (talk) 21:04, 5 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Title

[edit]

This article needs to be renamed Joint Assault Signals Company, Pacific Theater after contents of Draft:Joint Assault Signal Company, Pacific Theater are moved over. If not then deleted, that the Draft article can be moved or copied here.Oldperson (talk) 22:30, 5 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Actually "Pacific theater" is redundant as the units do not appear to have existed/operated anywhere else. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 08:23, 6 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Move and rename rationale

[edit]

The acronym JASCO is used to designate a Joint Assault Signal Company. The acronym would not be used if the unit was a Joint assault signal company. A JASCO is not analogous to an infantry company. There are other military units that are properly capitalized. One would not talk about the seabees or a Combat control team. A seabee is an insect, although none such exist, a Combat control team controls combat (impossible) however a Combat Control Team was a specialized military unit, just as a JASCO. I am moving Joint assault signal company to Joint Assault Signal Company (JASCO).Oldperson (talk) 10:51, 7 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
