There is clearly some contention as to what his date of death is, be it the 30th or the 31st. Could someone please help us find a citation that can clear up this disagreement? Zell Faze (talk) 16:31, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It appears that the source LEGEND LOST: Coach Johnny Orr Dies has been provided as a citation that his date of death is the 31st, but it could also be that the article was just published on the 31st and he died on the 30th. The article doesn't explicitly mention a date of death. Another citation may be helpful here. At least we know he is dead for sure now though. Zell Faze (talk) 16:34, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The Des Moines Register lists his date of death as "who died Tuesday morning" which given when the article was published refers to 2013-12-31 presumably. The 30th is a Monday. The article can be found here: [1] With another article also stating his death was on the 31st here: [2]
