Mr. Melvin/Pops, I called him at Bank of AmeriCorp which sometime fooled others pretending to be " son" during year of 2000. We talked alot about music and family. When he became aware that I owned a recording studio we talked plenty throughout that year about recording new music and possibly a comeback. Unfortunately he suffered from cancer it was excruciating no real health benifits which turned him towards drugs ( crack ) to ease his pain temporarily. His wife was the neice of (Josephine Baker ) she/we both did not agree of course about his choice of creating some comfort as he continued using up until his death. Mel aka Johnny Flamingo was a gifted talent, friendly and mostly a nice man to all and I still miss him today.
Yours truly,
DT 3lbs.
