The article suggests he made his debut for Sussex, but the 'three counties he played for' higher-up don't mention it. Is Surrey there a typo for Sussex?

Thank you. It should have been Sussex in the lead. From his stats, he appears to have played for a combined Surrey and Sussex but no matches for Surrey. Tintin (talk) 02:26, 15 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Initially a fast round-arm bowler (before overarm bowling became mandatory)..."

Surely overarm bowling wan't legalized till 1864, the year Wisden retired? And even then it wasn't mandatory. I think that the Laws were only changed to make overarm bowling mandatory within the last decade or so, though of course any other style had become exceedingly rare. I've therefore altered the sentence to say simply that he bowled round-arm.

Business career and legacy

[edit]

Please remove the first 'the' in the sentence, 'Grays then ceased to the use Wisden as an equipment brand, but re-established John Wisden & Co as the publisher of the Cricketers' Almanack' in the 'Business career and legacy' section - it is wrong to have it (the page is locked for editing by unregistered users).
