Reference to Forde Report removed
[edit]On the 15th of October 2022, a line of this article was removed under the justification of "removing inaccuracies and libellous comments"
This line, as you can see through post history, was solely made in reference to the findings of the Forde Report, an Independent Report, comissioned by Keir Starmer and the Labour Party. I did not state anything which was not directly stated in the Forde Report itself.
Stating what a report, directly commissioned by the Labour Party, stated about this documentary, feels relevant to understanding the full conversation around the impact and accuracy of the work he produced. Even if the editor in question personally disagrees with the findings, what an official party report said about the Panorama Documentary is still very much relevant to the discussion.
I don't believe that in any other topic, referencing an official report written by a KC, would warrant being removed.
This is also extremely relevant, since the author of the report, Martin Forde KC, has since publicly stated that the BBC and John Ware himself directly petitioned him to try and soften the findings of the report in areas where it concerned their broadcasting. In light of this, I feel editing out this context represents a pattern of behaviour by John Ware, the BBC, and Ware's fans to try and deliberately obscure criticism of his reporting. - The issue here is that the Forde Report is a primary source which we try to avoid in biographies of living people. Do you have a reliable source that quoted the Forde Report in this context? Lard Almighty (talk) 08:03, 17 March 2023 (UTC)
- I would question the degree to which the Forde Report was a Primary Source, given that it was an independent report, written by someone unconnected to the events of the documentary, and performing second-hand analysis of evidence provided. This was very much an outsider's view of the incident.
- In regards to other sources, An interview with Martin Forde, where he discussed the findings of the Forde Report, and John Ware's response has recently been released as part of Al Jazeera's "Labour Files" documentary.
- Al Jazeera is listed as a reliable source by wikipedia overall, but if anyone has any objections to it's specific citation in regards to this issue, that'd be understandable. They are a partisan source on this issue.

- You are cherry-picking from a primary source. That is the issue. What you added was one finding, and it's a bit of a non-sequitur from the other paragraphs in that section. It also does not relate directly to Ware, which it should given that this is his WP:BLP. If WP:RS had honed in on that particular finding in relation to Ware, then it would be appropriate to include it in his WP:BLP. But just left hanging at the end of a section on one of his documentaries, with no direct relationship to Ware and his work, it does not seem to me appropriate.
