Bahrain

[edit]

Timoney is going to Bahrain: http://www.miamiherald.com/2011/12/01/2526827/bahrain-taps-ex-miami-chief-for.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.59.206.13 (talk) 20:53, 7 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV and references

[edit]

There are several negative, potentially libellious negative comments which are uncited, inviolation of WP:BIO and WP:BLP. The article focuses heavily on criticism with only one real mention of positives (with the falling homicide increase rate in Philly). Hopefully, this could be addressed. Not done:: As ,I've said before, we can't use that link, according to guideline number 5 of Wikipedia:ELNO#Links_normally_to_be_avoided: "Links to web pages that primarily exist to sell products or services, or to web pages with objectionable amounts of advertising. For example, the mobile phone article does not link to web pages that mostly promote or advertise cell-phone products or services." --JokerXtreme (talk) 16:09, 7 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I recently finished reading Timoney's 2010 autobiography, and am attempting a significant cleanup of this entry. The goals will be: (1) revise in attempt to balance NPOV (the article previously was weighted toward criticism and flagged for NPOV debate), (2) add citations and/or remove unsourced information (article was previously flagged for lack of citation), and (3) add properly sourced details and improve organization and presentation of biographical material. Hope to provide better resource and ultimately gain consensus for all flags to be removed. RBHendrick (talk) 04:56, 24 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

BLP violations

[edit]

This article contained a large number of unsourced or weakly sourced allegations and criticisms against Timoney's work in protest management. I've pulled most of that for now as a violation of WP:BLP, but I just wanted to note here that I'm fine with it being reintroduced in a more clearly sourced form. In consequence, I've pulled the POV tag from the article, as this appears to have been the original bone of contention. If you feel I've done this prematurely, however, please feel free to revert me. Some references

[edit]

Here are some references which I have saved in my favorites bar. I think most of them aren't used in the article currently: [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7] and [8]. Mohamed CJ (talk) 21:18, 25 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, those were definitely a help. Cheers, Khazar2 (talk) 23:46, 25 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
