I've very little to say about this well-constructed biography of an English watercolourist.

  • The lead image should be captioned to say it's a lithograph by C. J. Watson of a self-portrait by Thirtle. The date would be useful if it can be located.

date of original self portrait was 1816. Hel-hama 15:00, 15 September 2018 (UTC)
  • The first paragraph of the Early life section is only partially cited.

  • Cotman could be linked in the Early life section.

  • Later life: who says her age was remarkable?
Amended. Hel-hama 20:38, 14 September 2018 (UTC)
  • It looks as if you've chosen Old Lynn because it has faded to red, as described in the text. Ideally this would be both captioned and cited. Otherwise it's a happy accident, hmm?

  • The surname is a form of Turkle, from Thor-ketil, the sacrificial cauldron for the god Thor. R. M. Wilson, A Dictionary of English Surnames, Oxford, 1997, p. 446. Might be worth a footnote.
Added. Hel-hama 20:33, 14 September 2018 (UTC)
  • Personally I can't see the value of images of gravestones; the article's function is to describe the artist's life.
Done. Hel-hama 20:38, 14 September 2018 (UTC)
  • The footnote on Jagger is probably just about relevant, but the mentions of his 'main rival' and 'successor' in that footnote are I think going too far from an account of Thirtle's life.
Agreed, ref amended.Hel-hama 20:38, 14 September 2018 (UTC)
  • Some of the books have ISBN-13s, some ISBN-10s and some no ISBNs at all. I suggest we list ISBN-13s for all that exist, and OCLC or equivalent for the remainder. You can use the ISBN converter to turn ISBN-10s into -13s.

  • Perhaps the Plunkett photographs entry could be amended to indicate its relevance.
done Hel-hama 16:22, 15 September 2018 (UTC)
  • The external links that are lists of works might be best separated into such a list, and marked up with the number of Thirtle's works at each location: 203 in Norfolk Museums, 10 at the V&A, 13 at Yale, 31 on Artnet, 3 on Norfolk Heritage Explorer.

It would be helpful to remark and cite (next to the relevant list entry) any works that critics consider especially worthy of note.

Well, all the essential items are done. A couple of minor suggestions remain open for consideration for post-GA improvement, but I'm satisfied that the GA criteria are well met here. It's good to see interesting and well-constructed local articles; I hope you'll also take the time to pick one or two articles from the GAN queue to review. Thanks for your encouraging comments, Chiswick Chap. I'll be able to add to the article as you suggest over the next week or so.Hel-hama 17:46, 15 September 2018 (UTC)
