[edit]I have done some research, specifically reading the account by Andrew Lang. The information regarding Henderson is not solidly established, even in Lang's mind.

William Ruthven escaped to Virgina
[edit]It says right at the bottom of this page that "Encyclopedic content must be verifiable". I don't believe that the last paragraph on this article which states that William Ruthven escaped to Virgina and changed his name to Ruffin is verifiable. This is an ancient legend among American Ruffins and is widely accepted, but to this date without proof. In fact it is deemed very unlikely by many modern researchers. The connection is still being investigated, but without current documentation the article should state this as a lengend or theory and not as fact. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pswilson1 (talk • contribs) 17:24, 5 December 2006
