As the head figure of one of the worlds largest accountancy firms, I feel that this makes Connolly a public figure of some interest. His ranking in the 2008 Times Power 100 above the likes of Richard Branson (who does have a page on Wikipedia) surely indicates that he is an important business figure.

Support with correcting inaccuracies on profile

[edit]

Hello,

I recently updated John P. Connolly’s Wikipedia profile to include his current roles and correct outdated information. Unfortunately, my changes were reverted, and I’d like to discuss how to improve the article while adhering to Wikipedia’s guidelines.

The previous version contains inaccuracies, such as outdated roles, and omits key positions he has held in recent years. My updates were based on reliable sources, including his LinkedIn profile, this article from Citywire (Stonehage Fleming appoints ex-Deloitte exec as chair), and this article on Interpath Advisory (KPMG’s former restructuring division launches as Interpath Advisory).

I’ve ensured neutrality and accuracy in the updated content, and I would appreciate guidance on how to ensure the article reflects verified, up-to-date information in line with Wikipedia’s standards.

Thank you for your time and assistance. COS2023 (talk) 10:35, 2 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You will need to suggest specific additions (or specific changes). All of these will need to be supported by reliable independent sources, as per WP:V and WP:RS. Please note that LinkedIn is not considered a reliable source because it is non-independent of the subject and is user created content. Hopefully these notes are of assistance. Please also note that as per WP:COIPAYDISCLOSE the Wikipedia terms and conditions require that you fully disclose your conflict of interest in relation to the subject of the article. Axad12 (talk) 18:04, 2 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Just a further note to say that I have just removed a significant amount of promotional and non-encyclopaedic content from the article. Axad12 (talk) 18:10, 2 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to disclose that I have a professional relationship with John P. Connolly, which may constitute a conflict of interest. I am suggesting edits to improve the article’s accuracy and ensure it adheres to Wikipedia’s guidelines. COS2023 (talk) 00:19, 3 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, I will add the info again with the sources linked again. COS2023 (talk) 00:05, 3 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
