Contested deletion
[edit]This article should not be speedily deleted for "lack of asserted importance" because John Lear is a significant public person with many accomplishments in different areas of life and work. The reasons he is a notable person will be worked out further in future if wikipedia will only allow it.
Other than that the information in the article is and will be accurate, already partly referenced, verifiable and produced by a person unrelated to the subject in any way, shape or form. There are no copyright infringements. So there is no reason whatsoever to delete it.
The reason given for the flagging is also inaccurate: "This article may meet Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion as a page that was previously deleted via a deletion discussion, is substantially identical to the deleted version, and any changes do not address the reasons for which the material was deleted. See the previous discussion. See CSD G4."
This is bullshit, because the current text is produced 8 years after the aforementioned discussion and is totally original. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Knudknud (talk • contribs) 00:26, 14 March 2015 (UTC)
Comment
[edit]John Lear is quoted as a source in an incredible number of conspiracy theory articles, and it's hard to find quality sources to verify the assertions that he made - in particular with his career.
Re-opening this page could be valuable to share information about our collective verifications.

- The lack of quality sources is likely why the article did not pass Wikipedia's notability threshold. -Location (talk) 06:18, 1 September 2017 (UTC)
