Copyright violation

I reverted an addition to the article as copyright violation. The material was taken from http://www.johnklemmer.com/bio/index.html (copyright by Klemmer). Since there is no indication of the text being licensed under GFDL, it is inappropriate to use as a matter of copyright. —C.Fred (talk) 05:24, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

John Klemmer, The Controversial, God-like, Pioneer/Vacationer

Ummm...Was this whole article written by Klemmer or, perhaps. someone on his staff???

"...[Blowin' Gold] was considered by many as the first of the jazz/rock fusion genre..."
(who are these "many" that think that?)
"..."Klemmer and the 'Touch' series of recordings are regarded by many as paving the way and being 'the founder' of the smooth jazz genre"...
(who regards these recordings in this manner? who called him "the founder of smooth jazz"?)
"...the now landmark recording of Cry ushering in, thought by many, the 'New Age Music Spiritual' genre..."
(who described the recording as a "landmark"? who cites it as the start of that genre?)

I can't think of anyone who describes Klemmer or his music in this manner.

Oh, and, while we're here, does anyone have citations for the following claims?:

"...amassing a large and valuable publishing catalog..."
(from where did this claim arise?)
"...some anointing him 'The Ambassador of Cool'."
(who "anointed" him with that title?)
"After another of his many controversial sabbaticals..."
"His continuous fast changing of musical directions throughout his career created some controversy, confusion and false speculative motivational assumptions and judgements..."
"Klemmer then took his longest and most controversial sabbatical, causing numerous false rumors of personal and health problems as he continued writing, recording and working with new digital technologies..."
(what are all these "controversies"???)
"...he further developed his innovative Solo Sax Concept..."
(what's the concept? who describes it as innovative?)
"...he briefly returned to his earlier jazz roots [...] at personal request of Clive Davis."
"...he then, upon personal urging of legendary pop and rock music mogul Joe Smith, moved to Elektra Records..."
(Clive Davis??? Joe Smith??? Surely, there is documentation?)

Can someone supply some legitimate citations for these claims? If not, these lines should be deleted from the article. Klemmer's career stands up just fine without these questionable honorifics. TMAck45 (talk) 02:03, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
