appended footnote - deletion

[edit]

This article carries, after the listing of References, a bulleted note concerning Sir Henry Billingsley of Siston or Syston, Gloucestershire (son and heir of Sir Henry Billingsley, Lord Mayor of London). The father married Katherine Killigrew, daughter of John Killigrew (d 1584), as his third wife; the son married, as his second wife c. 1602, one Mary Killigrew, to whom he was still married at the time of his death c. 1628. The appended note in this article contains a number of confusions between different Henry Billingsleys, one of whom married Abigail, and another who was active during the English Civil War, several years after Sir Henry (junior) died. Neither of the latter was Sir Henry (1564-1628), son of the mayor, and the narrative of the man who habitually deserted his wives is the fiction of muddled identifications. As this bulleted note has no verified relationship to the subject of this article, and is at best very confused and misleading, I am about to delete it.
