Expert attention needed
[edit]I rescued this article from a wholly unreferenced one-line sub-stub, but it's still pretty shaky. The sources conflict on Jenkins's party affiliation at Westminster, and the sourcing for his presidency of the TUC and his role in Cardiff is weak.
More detail is probably available in newspaper archives, but I do not have access to them. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 16:47, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
- This book source is very handy, certainly confirms his trade union and political activities in Cardiff, for example. Sionk (talk) 12:08, 26 March 2017 (UTC)
- There are multiple news articles in November 1900 about a Councillor John Jenkins J.P. refusing election to the office of Mayor of Cardiff. It was the first time the post had been offered to a Labour councillor.[1] However, John Jenkins is a not uncommon name and the 1900 John Jenkins had been councillor for 10 years already. This makes me think this is not the same man as John Hogan Jenkins. Sionk (talk) 14:20, 26 March 2017 (UTC)
