Discussion of moving The Pilot Episode to a more suitable name

[edit]

The article about the pilot episode of Are You Being Served, which is currently called simply "The Pilot Episode", was recently up for deletion, but it was decided that the only thing wrong was the name. Please see Talk:The Pilot Episode to contribute to the discussion on this. --Tony SidawayTalk 22:53, 6 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Don't forget he was considered for Gunner Beaumont in It Ain't Half Hot Mum —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.70.116.98 (talk) 09:00, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Death

[edit]

He just died.. check the BBC news site for details. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.136.199.201 (talk) 07:17, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So sorry to hear this. Just caught it on Newshour (in the US), no report yet on cause from what I've heard. -Etoile 22:07, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
He had a hepatitis A infection and had been ill in hospital [1], SqueakBox 22:12, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Surely he died of liver failure, rather than Hep A? It's not a fatal condition. Salty1984 (talk) 17:31, 24 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

B class !?

[edit]

A biography of roughly 670 words? That doesn't seem like "B" class to me. "Start", perhaps, but not "B"... -- SatyrTN (talk | contribs) 07:39, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think it should be about length. We have to bare in mind how much information we can actually get about Inman. It's not likely to be much longer to be honest. --Berks105 10:11, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Category move

[edit]

Hi! I moved the article from Category:LGBT actors from England to Category:Gay actors and Category:LGBT people from England because there's a major restructuring going on with the LGBT cats - the "to do" list is here. You can see discussion here and here, though the project's talk page archives have random comments strewn throughout. Categories can be emptied and moved if there's no objection to it. Do you have an objection?

More than likely, the Category:Gay actors will be subdivided by nationality, but that won't be decided until some of the smaller cats are pulled in. If you're interested, we'd love to hear your comments on the project's talk page? Thanks! -- SatyrTN (talk / contribs) 06:58, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I can't say I have any particular objection, bar I think it was better having Inman in only one LGBT category rather than two, but I just think that a little note in the edit history pointing to the discussion might have been helpful. Surely if a category is being emptied, putting it through AfD might be a good idea? --UpDown (talk) 08:26, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dance taining

Gay?

[edit]

Was he gay, or did he just act like one? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.72.57.123 (talk) 00:19, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Golfing ability

[edit]

I removed the unsourced claim that John Inman was a proficient golfer. None of the online obituaries mention his golfing ability. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Simon Taylor (talkcontribs) 03:47, 8 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
