Copyright problem
[edit]This article has been reverted by a bot to this version as part of a large-scale clean-up project of multiple article copyright infringement. (See the investigation subpage) This has been done to remove User:Accotink2's contributions as they have a history of extensive copyright violation and so it is assumed that all of their major contributions are copyright violations. Earlier text must not be restored, unless it can be verified to be free of infringement. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions must be deleted. Contributors may use sources as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences or phrases. Accordingly, the material may be rewritten, but only if it does not infringe on the copyright of the original or plagiarize from that source. Please see our guideline on non-free text for how to properly implement limited quotations of copyrighted text. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously. - I've reverted this bot edit. The text changes were minor and do not appear to implicate copyright issues, and the bot edit introduced errors and removed portions that have no relation to potential copyright issues (e.g., persondata). TJRC (talk) 19:40, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
Date
[edit]The NASA page as well as other pages say he died 15 April. Which is correct? --Raumfahrtingenieur (talk) 10:33, 19 April 2014 (UTC)
His eldest daughter, who should be a fairly reliable source states 15 April: [1] PTWithy (talk) 14:54, 19 April 2014 (UTC)

Assessment comment
[edit]The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:John Houbolt/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.
I gave this article a Start-class rating. It has good points, but in places it reads more like an article on Lunar Orbit Rendezvous than an account of Houbolt's life. It needs more biographical information, and the biographical information needs to be better integrated with the discussion of Houbolt's role in championing LOR. Houbolt's role in LOR
[edit]I've just deleted a 'citation needed' tag from the lead / lede about Houbolt leading the LOR team. The main article supports the part Houbolt played, and if there is controversy about it perhaps it could be discussed here first? Thanks! JezGrove (talk) 21:07, 21 April 2020 (UTC)
