Two references removed

[edit]

I have removed two references citing my own work as a source. While I'm flattered, it does not meet wikipedia's standards for a reliable source. Not that I regard myself unreliable as such, but the citations pointed to my own self-published website, in once instance to a piece reproduced from an article I had previously written for wikipedia itself! I rather doubt it's permissible for wikipedia to cite itself as an authority, even at one remove. The ultimate reliable sources for the information are standard bibliographical resources; I'll see about tracking them down and adding them in at some point. Your rectitude is admirable. Report to the Dean's office at your leisure for your ritual spanking. EEng (talk) 16:12, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
As I gather the references were added by Rosiestep, your slap on the wrist should probably be directed in that direction. BPK (talk) 14:32, 19 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I wasn't scolding you at all -- it's just that quaint and ancient academic rituals are always amusing to contemplate, even if fanciful. EEng (talk) 14:49, 19 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
