Source for the Liberty Leading the People comparison?
[edit]Hello,
This article claims that Gast's painting American Progress "is considered the American equivalent to Eugène Delacroix's Liberty Leading the People". Is there a source for this? It seems to be both unnecessary and subjective- we should delete it.
thanks! Lilacsoutofthedeadground (talk) 01:15, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
Translation from German?
[edit]Hello,
The wp:de article is well developed: anybody would be able to translate it?

Source
[edit]The master's thesis Beyond "American Progress": The Legacy of John Gast by Rothenberg, Samantha, published by ProQuest looks like a very relevant source. I only have access to a preview of the first handful of pages, however. Wham2001 (talk) 18:11, 2 December 2018 (UTC)
