Overall this is a good article. I found one issue:

• "His leg was later amputated, but he died shortly afterwards from the injury." I'd change but to and, since back then if you got amputated you were basically a dead man already.

I just went and fixed this myself though, since it's just one word change, and as such the article can be passed now. Wizardman _{Operation Big Bear} 19:17, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
