Proposed split
[edit]Support. The base article here was about the John Ernle of 1620-1697, and this edit was where things began to go so badly wrong. Each of the other John Ernle(y)s needs his own page, as Sir John Ernley (1464–1520) already has. I suggest restoring this article to its original subject, creating John Ernle (disambiguation) and adding hatnotes to there. Moonraker2 (talk) 15:55, 16 January 2010 (UTC)
- John Ernle of 1620-1697 is clearly the most important. If there are just 2 others, John Ernley and John Ernle (Royal Navy officer) (?) perhaps just 2 hatnotes will suffice and not bother with John Ernle (disambiguation)? Tassedethe (talk) 17:48, 16 January 2010 (UTC)
- I have created John Ernle (naval officer). In the process, I've found there were other John Ernles, so I suggest the disambiguation page is justified. Moonraker2 (talk) 22:37, 16 January 2010 (UTC)
- If there are more then definitely. Ta. Tassedethe (talk) 23:05, 16 January 2010 (UTC)
