Baronetcy

[edit]

The Baronetcy granted to John Hussey Delaval on 1 July 1761 should be 'of Ford, in the county of Northumberland' - London Gazette no. 10117 page 2 refers82.45.117.166 (talk) 11:41, 21 June 2013 (UTC)SJH[reply]

Thomas Knight

[edit]

Apologies if I offended anybody by deleting stuff about Thomas Knight yesterday. Perhaps I was a bit hasty. It's just that I have been reading Stafford Linsley's "Ports and Harbours of Northumberland" recently, especially chapter 11 on Seaton Sluice and Hartley. It is clear from that that John Delaval and his brothers had a major economic impact which wasn't and still isn't being reported in the article, whereas there seemed an excessive emphasis on his alleged illegitimate son and related matters, which seems small beer by comparison. I just think that the article needs to have balance. Perhaps I should add in some of the stiff from Linsley. AWhiteC (talk) 18:27, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
