Family questions
[edit]I am a little confused about who's who here. The Cropper in cite #3 was James Cropper (1773-1840) - Is this John's father? This cite goes on to say that John Cropper had two children, but neither are John Wakefield Cropper as mention in cite # 8.
Also, the Robert Rathbone Benson paragraph seems off track. Was he just John's father's business partner. How important was he to John's biography?
If you don't like any of the changes I made, feel free to change them. Especially since my above questions indicate I am not familiar with the subject. Thanks. Mitico (talk) 14:04, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

- The article reffed is about JAmes who is John's father. Further dowen it says "John Cropper had at least one daughter, (by Anne Wakefield), this was Margaret, born in 1836. She lived to a ripe age dying only on 10th Oct 1930. A son by the same marriage is known also, this was Charles James Cropper. THIS LINK gives some genealogy on the Croppers, perhaps even to the present day." ie This is not definitive about the number of children ...
- There is a bit about RRBenson. Its important cos thats why his dad gives up his partnership and devotes his time to philanthropy. The row appears to be religous in nature but you cannot be certain
- I don't claim to be an expert either. If you can see ways of explaining this better then feel free. If I have made a mistake then please delete it. Its important that this is the best it can be and that might be better than I can manage! Thanks for the input Victuallers (talk) 20:22, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
