It's a bit tricky because yes much is from Dr. Choma's official biography (which is cited). I've rearranges/added a some things but when comes to biographical material "from the horse's mouth" what's the rule on this? His same bio appears all over the internet because his so frequently cited in IEEE papers and USC uses outsourced duplicates of some of his USC site content pretty loosely. But I wouldn't call those "reliably persistent" place nor could most of those really claim copyright. The biggest issue for me was there was an empty placeholder page from other wiki pages that I couldn't abide to remain empty.

As mentioned I'm still doing updates (newer than his "official" bio in some cases). Of the various places to keep things as a master reference for posterity, wikipedia seems like the best fit. So I'm assuming I'm not warping the rules too badly with this. Feedback is appreciated of course if that's not the case. I can hook you up with the man himself if there are any issues with this. He and I are good friends. Jsgruszynski (talk) 22:54, 27 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Jsgruszynski, I appreciate your willingness to follow up on this. Professor Choma's biography may be often reproduced; however, it is actually still subject to copyright. The facts themselves are not, but the way they are presented are. Having said that, since you have changed the presentation, I think that the article is fine now (as far as copyright is concerned) and have removed the copypaste template on the article. However, you may still want to address the issues still listed on the article by reviewing the referenced guidelines. We have fairly strict standards for biographies of living persons on Wikipedia due to the potential damage to their subjects. Please let me know if you have any questions.
