I'd like to see a direct link to the source about the ranking if possible. I have never heard of a Southern division of the ranking of the US News Poll. - MT
- This is a sickeningly subjective puff-piece. It must have been written by an ad agency. clearwood 19:09, 15 August 2005 (UTC)
- Being a student, I can tell you that it was most likely written by the administration.
- So, do we take it out? D. Wo. 05:09, 21 September 2005 (UTC)
- Yea, guys. . . -

Lead Bias
"John Brown University is a Christian university committed to providing quality academics within a distinctly Christian community. The university has no denominational affiliation and admits students of any faith. JBU is a vibrant and growing independent Christian university of the arts, sciences, and professions."
That sounds a little biased to me. MondoManDevout 08:00, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
Misc clean-up notes
Added pov-check in accordance with comments above --be
Removed the "vibrant and growing" phrase. The rest appears pretty factual. Also removed the pov-check. -rbn
The US News link appears to be broken. I am not really sure how to fix it. - gt
I was just looking up John Brown as some friend's children go there.around, Sounds like the guy above is a disgruntled student.
I changed the introduction paragraph so it is less like an advertisement. The introduction was, in fact, copied directly from this facts page on the school's website: http://www.jbu.edu/news/facts.asp SJCarlson22 (talk) 08:41, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
Guidelines for Inclusion
Wikipedia provides guidelines for what type of external links are not to be included:
- A page that contains factually inaccurate material or unverified original research, as detailed in Wikipedia:Reliable sources.
- A page that you own or maintain, even if the guidelines above imply that it should be linked. This is because of neutrality and point-of-view concerns; neutrality is an important and difficult objective at Wikipedia. If your page is relevant and informative, mention it on the talk page and let unbiased Wikipedia editors decide whether to add the link.
The End Times fits both of these criteria. — D. Wo. 18:31, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:JBU.jpeg
Image:JBU.jpeg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 10:08, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Notable alumni section
I wondered if a person had to have their own Wikipedia article to establish their notability before that person could be listed under this section? That would certainly make sense to me. I am asking because I noticed Jim Sheets is listed under this section but there is no Wikipedia article for him. I was not sure if this was correct? Thanks!--Fraulein451 (talk) 20:01, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
