Not worthy of comment in the main article, but perhaps of interest to a passing researcher, might be an entry in the minutes of The Wine Committee of the [[Army and Navy Club], on 18 January 1934, “A sample bottle of Marres 1908 Port was submitted, the property of Sir John Asser, who has 15 dozen for sale at 170/‑.” This is presumably a mis-spelling of “Warre’s”. Anyway, “The Sub-Committee did not consider it necessary to increase the stock of 1908 port.” JDAWiseman (talk) 17:40, 9 September 2017 (UTC) (My picture #6073.)[reply]
