Criticisms?
Are there any general criticisms about the show? Any theories as to what caused the low ratings? Sourcing them might be difficult; but I think that that would add value to the article. 65.93.146.51 08:18, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
I agree, I would like a section on criticism.
Can't comment on professional criticism, but maybe the fact that the Joey character kind of sucked (a lot), coupled with the fact that he was by far the best part of the show (by several orders of magnitude) had something to do with it? As a fan of the show myself, I find not being able to see it's (glaring) faults at the FAR end of disingenuous. You don't need a source; The show wasn't that good. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 107.15.46.68 (talk) 02:54, 10 September 2017 (UTC)
The laugh track
I was suprised by the cheap, circa-1960's laugh track that was used in the series. Did anyone else find it odd?
It was one of the show's Friends references. In one episode of Friends episode (NO idea which one) they used a 60's laugh track because the original was damaged and played "incorrectly", and so they decided to use it for this show's pilot. However, they liked it, and kept it for the remaining episodes (except one, I've read, but I again don't know which one).
The term 'cancelled'
So is this show actually cancelled? Does "pulled" mean it's cancelled? StargateX1 18:26, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
Yes, unfortunately it was cancelled by NBC. I hate NBCs line up these days, I despise reality TV and their only good sitcom worth stopping what I'm doing to watch was Joey. Sorry your show didn't survive Matt...
- It wasn't too bad of a show
- If the Network stated that it was canceled I’m sure the fans would have been pissed, rather than wondering if it was still going to continue. Rlk89 01:44, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
- Who wrote the first part of the article?? "on a tuesday.....??". Can someone write this much better:? Dollvalley 13:58, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
Contract causing full seasons
I read in a Entertainment Weekly that for NBC to cancel this show it would have cost them far more then to finish either the first or second season due to contracts for the stars, mostly Matt LeBlanc, it might be worth meantioning, as when the show tanked it continued on for quite a while.--Kinglink 16:57, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
Season 2 DVD
Is there a link for the season 2 dvd, i've looked on "tv shows on dvd" and theres nothing about it there.Samaster1991
I received a newsletter from Castello Lopes (the guys that distribute Warner DVDs in Portugal) saying that the 2nd season of Joey will be released here on September 11, 2008. I thought you guys would like to know this. Region 2 rules :P (Mvreisjr (talk) 16:01, 2 September 2008 (UTC))
Region 1 is better. We're sexier. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.247.244.120 (talk) 22:54, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
Low Ratings
The article mentions that of the four major networks on its Tuesday timeslot, Joey had the lowest ratings. What exactly were the ratings in "millions of viewers" (a decimal is acceptable here! eg. 0.3million), and Nielson Ratings?-24.70.95.203 11:19, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
It's hard to find full ratings information for a night so far in the past, but this article [1] should help. Lambertman 15:52, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
Only woman he ever loved
I think it is inappropriate to say that Rachel Green is the only woman Joey has ever loved. Joey said in season two (or possibly three) that he was in love with Ursula Buffay. (Neostinker 12:33, 21 August 2006 (UTC))
To further this Joey also said he loved The lesbian nanny in series nine. (Neostinker 21:42, 25 August 2006 (UTC))
He may have been in love with Ursula but I think the love he had for Rachel was purely a love as in love for a friend, when she moved in with him, they became best friends!! When they decide to remain just friends they said "how come Monica and Chandler could do it?" and Joey replies "Maybe they weren't as close as we are" insinuating that they are the best of friends and they couldn't do it because of that reason. --Nelse2808 20:48, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
And he only said he was in love with the lesbian nanny because she was forbidden fruit. Ross said that he wasn't allowed near her and that made him want her even more. That wasn't true love! --Nelse2808 20:48, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
Contradiction?
The intro states (or implies) that the show was pulled after the first airing of the first show. The infobox says only 8 were unaired. Am I misunderstanding something in my reading, or is that an error? I don't know enough about the show to correct it either way. - Boss1000 17:03, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
Main characters
You are joking? Joey isn't on there why? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 87.127.211.2 (talk) 11:38, 19 February 2007 (UTC).
Friends Cast reaction
Is there any documentation about the reaction by the other Friend's cast members about the show? Or what writers of the original series thought about it? --Wolfrider 03:40, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
Yeah~I'm wondering that stuff as well. Jacky Woo
Looking for help writing an article about the spin-offs and crossovers of this series
I am writing an article about all of the series which are in the same shared reality as this one through spin-offs and crossovers. I could use a little help expanding the article since it is currently extremely dense and a bit jumbled with some sentence structures being extremely repetitive. I would like to be able to put this article into article space soon. Any and all help in writing the article would be appreciated, even a comment or two on the talk page would help. Please give it a read through, also please do not comment here since I do not have all of the series on my watch list. - LA @ 16:57, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
How you doin'?
Does Joey ever come to say "How you doin'?" in this series? I can't remember a single time... Kennin (talk) 03:34, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
-He says this at least one time, in season 1 episode 10. He mess up his lines during a audition and starts by saying "how you doing" to his daughter - vitual 29. jan 2009 06:23 (CET)
Howard aka Ben Falcone
Why isn't Howard (Ben Falcone) featured on the page? He appeared more oftenly than Zach... Kennin (talk) 03:42, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
Excellent question. Well, other than the fact that 'oftenly' isn't a word. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 107.15.46.68 (talk) 03:02, 10 September 2017 (UTC)
Asterisks by air dates
An asterisk has no meaning unless it is explicitly stated in the article (preferably by the figure in question). Someone needs to explicate the asterisks by the air dates for the episodes in the latter half of season two. --Waidawut (talk) 04:41, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
- Somebody added that those are the UK air dates, but I know for a fact that Channel 5 (the UK broadcaster) didn't show the second season until 2007. I think those are actually the Norwegian air dates, but I cannot confirm this. Christophee (talk) 13:15, 1 April 2013 (UTC)
The Set
Here's just some random trivia I thought about for some reason. The EMS company I worked for actually ended up buying a lot of furniture and props from the set after the show was canceled. It's now being used in several simulated rooms for the paramedics to practice house calls. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.176.88.177 (talk) 04:33, 9 October 2011 (UTC)
Season 2 episode notes
I think we should remove the notes section from Season 2, Episode 1 in the 'Episodes' section. For one thing, the original NBC broadcasts did actually have the full opening credits, including the three executive producers. I think some of the other channels had a shorter version without the executive producer credits, but I don't think that's noteworthy enough to mention. Plus the other stuff about Shana Goldberg-Meehan leaving and Miguel A. Núñez, Jr. joining the cast would be better somewhere else on the page. Christophee (talk) 01:58, 28 March 2013 (UTC)
- Actually, after watching a few episodes, I've noticed that NBC used both the long and short versions of the opening credits. I guess they used the short version for episodes that overran slightly. Christophee (talk) 23:08, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
