article cleaned up

[edit]

I cleaned up this article. For the most part, I kept what everyone else wrote, however I corrected a few things. I erased the statement where it talked about Joe being called "the only straight edge member of Fall Out Boy". That is kind of a POV statement. Patrick Stump says he does not associate himself with the straight edge movement, however, to an outsider, he does appear to live the straight edge life. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Spuddy 17 (talkcontribs) 20:27, 1 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Under personal life, it's Sucka not Succah. Sucka as in Sucker.

Joe IS NOT married!

- I deleted the part that someone said joe has a DAUGHTER?!!! He Nor any other FOB memeber have ANY CHILDREN!!!!! Don't believe everything you read on wikipedia, My teacher gave us an article on how ANYONE (that means any age!) can post on here, such as myself.

-I read that only Andy and Pete claim straight edge. I also read numerous times that Joe is no longer straight edge and he is now somewhat of a stoner.

-Whoever cleaned up the article deleted a lot of facts from the trivia section. Who is the wikipedia Nazi?? Joe wouldn't like that...to add to this, I hate the wikipedia nazi who deletes any trivia. save the drama fo yo mama betch

- Just to correct you there... Joe is the only member of FOB who is NOT straight-edge. Pete has an 'X' tattoo on his ankle, which he did himself (yuck!); Andy is straight-edge vegan (as confirmed by pete on the website) - both are known to wear t-shirts advertising this, e.g. Andy has one saying "straight fucking edge" and pete has "girls can be straight edge too" and "kiss me i'm straight edge". What Patrick meant was that he thinks the band (since they are NOT all sXe) and band members particularly want to be known for their music, and not to be held up as role models or liked purely on the basis of their beliefs/lifestyles. - aaliya

^retard

Straight Edge is actually a life style that people do commit to. Though Patrick doesn't excatly go around drinking and doing drugs, he's still not Edge and has never claimed to be Edge(as far as I know) the way Pete and Andy have. To say Joe is the only member that isn't Straight Edge is incorrect as Patrick is also not straight edge.

Just a confirmation for aaliya the x on pete's ankle isn't for when he did x..if he did it. in a interview he said that he got it just beacase it was his first tattoo and he was young and didn't know what else to get ^-^ oh and please don't delete anymore trivia

-Andy is the only member of the band who is straight edge. Joe smokes. Patrick may or may not be a big partier, but you're not straight edge unless you personally identify as such, and he does not. Pete may have an X tattoo, but the shitty thing about tattoos is, they're permanent. People change, ink is permanent. Dude recenty opened a bar, for chissakes, don't think he's edge.

joe does smoke tobbacco....i sware....fob calls him wacky tabacky..pete said it himself..him and pete share one tour bus because pete doesnt mind joe smoking...and joe doesn't mind pete's dog hemingway..patrick & andy are on a different bus because patrick doesn't mind living with andy being a vegan

Joe smokes weed, Patrick drinks, Pete drinks, Andy is Straight Edge. WOW @ ALL OF YOU. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.222.233.132 (talk) 21:47, August 28, 2007 (UTC)

I added that he grew up in Winnetka since we know that he at least spent his teens years in the Chicago area, since he went to New Trier High School.

How about omitting the part where he supposedly grew up until there is some sort of confirmation that its Chicago...or elsewhere? Nikkir386

Everything I have ever heard about Joe is that he is from Chicago. If anyone can confirm he is from elsewhere, please do so. Spuddy 17 23:22, 25 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Joe grew up in Winnetka, IL. I was best friends with his brother growing up.

How come the background info and the article disagree about his birthday?

Joe was born somewhere in FL, i think.....

he was born in FL wasnt he. and he moved to Chicago when he was like 12--loz 07:33, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Joe was born in Hollywood, Florida

Starting Fall Out Boy

[edit]

I was always under the impression Joe and Pete were the ones who were joking of starting a pop-punk band and then started FOB...not Patrick and Joe. I might be, and probably am, wrong. It just makes more sense since Pete and Joe knew each other from playing together in previous bands.

Pete and Joe did start Fall Out Boy together. If ANY of you people that claim to be fans have watched "My Heart Will Always Be The B-Side Of My Tongue", Joe and Pete talk about how they joked about starting some sort of pop-punk band. -Eden (strangly in love with patrick stump) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.29.46.114 (talk) 21:09, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Trohmania

[edit]

Needs mentioning.

Mentioned! --Bottle-Of-Musical-Joy (talk) 00:18, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Joe is also the Rhythm guitarist in addition to Lead. He said it himself that he and Patrick trade off for different songs. If you are some Joe fan then please learn your facts. The fact that Joe doesn't write the music also needs mentioning. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hammash (talkcontribs) 02:12, 6 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The only album Joe didn't write any of his own music for was Infinity on High. And he only trades from lead to rythym guitar on songs from that album. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.80.149.252 (talk) 23:25, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

info

[edit]

I'm not sure where to put this but oh well. I have some info but I don't really know how to edit articles so I will write it here and sb pleas put it in the article. ·When he was young first played trumpet but then shifted to guitar. · he played for several bands in the Chicago area ·He played bass for a short time in the band Arma Angelus (with Pete Wentz with whom he would play in FOB) ·He started FOB and auditioned a lot of people to be in the band in his house. · He went to Washburne Middle School and New Trier Township Middle School. · He was in the AV Club And that's all. hope it helps :) I got this info from a book called "The story of fall out boy" by Jesse Saba, omnibus press

Notable enough for his own article?

[edit]

Another user has been trying to turn this into a redirect to Fall Out Boy, but I think an independent article on Trohman is fine. Since no one's actually proposing deletion, we can't take the page to AFD, but hopefully, an RFC will help us reach a consensus. Zagalejo^^^ 03:54, 9 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Considering the fact that he has been featured in a number of magazine articles (Rolling Stone, Guitar World, etc.) and in other media I think he can be considered notable according to WP:NM.-Schnurrbart (talk) 04:08, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It would be helpful if you gave a more specific reason than you think the article is fine. Specifically, if you addressed notability guidelines and kind of gave us an idea what you're thinking. From reading the article, it looks like Joe Trohman has received significant notable coverage that was independent of the band however, I'm not certain by the current article if there is enough information to merit more than a section in the main article. Shell babelfish 22:59, 12 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
OK. I think Trohman passes WP:N because of the sources cited in the article. And even though the article isn't that long, I think this information is best presented in its own article, because there's no obvious place to put it in the band's article. We can't just plop it down at the bottom of Fall Out Boy; that would look tacky (especially since all of the biographical details for the other band members are in their own articles.) Zagalejo^^^ 00:12, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I should note that the other user, Neon white, has characterized the information in the article as "trivia" and "fancruft", but I don't think that's a fair description. These details are the kinds of things people come to Wikipedia looking for. And most of the facts in the article have been mentioned in multiple sources. Zagalejo^^^ 00:20, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Is it something you originally took yourself with a camera? Because of Wikipedia's site policies, it needs to be a free image. Most of the images that are up online are copyrighted, so we can't use them. Zagalejo^^^ 19:20, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for being a Pain in the Keester but how do I know If an image is Copyrighted? Google says "Image may be subject to Copyright" Which I guess Means It may or may not.......Ya know I think Im just gonna leave this to the Proffesinials... (FallOutBoyFan123 (talk) 19:35, 10 July 2009 (UTC)) FallOutBoyFan123[reply]

Most of the images you find on Google are probably copyrighted. You might be able to find something usable on Flickr, but you'd have to contact the uploaders there. Zagalejo^^^ 22:43, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
