Article Read Like a Resume, Not Encyclopedic
[edit]I've just made some edits to clean this article up so that it reads less like a resume and more like an encyclopedic entry. With the addition of a brief paragraph describing his co-discovery of SOD, this article should be close to complete. Someone can take a crack at that or I'll give it a go when I get the chance. Pathways Bioscience
[edit]A new section was recently added[1] which states that McCord co-founded Pathways Bioscience, LLC (a dietary supplement company), based on 2 press releases, which are WP:SPS. The text in question states "McCord co-founded the company Pathways Bioscience, LLC in 2014, where he is currently leading research on gene expression and aging." Aside from the sources being WP:SPS and WP:PROMO (Wikipedia is not a forum for advertising/self-promotion), and not WP:SECONDARY or WP:INDEPENDENT, the press releases do not mention the founding date, nor that McCord is "leading research on gene expression and aging", and they do not mention who the other co-founders are, which is a critical omission. I have removed the section for now pending resolution of the aforementioned issues here on the Talk page. Going forward, please do not re-add this information without first discussing it here on the article Talk page and reaching WP:CONSENSUS. Rhode Island Red (talk) 15:08, 15 December 2018 (UTC)
