Initial attachment to the RAF

[edit]

I've foudn a couple of gazette entries that suggest he had an earlier attachment to the RAF, jsut before his marriage. However, it's possible that that the second entry sayign the notice was cancelled, means that it never actually took place, rather than just marking the ned of his temporary commission. Have to admit I didn't search the Gazette too hard since I had AWM and Who's Who citations for his OBE/CBE. Happy to leave the bit about his RAF commission - though I might contract it a tad - as long as no-one insists on knowing what the point of it was...!
