i lived in the bay area when joe played for golden state. it wasn't the media that started calling him that, it was a the fans at the games. true he scored some points, but for a 7'1" guy 2 offensive rebounds a game over the career is pathetic and gives a clue into his lack of desire to mix it up, and he was one of the worst defensive centers i've ever seen. he was defiantly underachieving in his last year at golden state. so i'll be researching the contention here that "A great deal of Carroll's negative press, however, can reasonably be attributed by the fact that he often declined interviews". it's not my recollection of that time and carroll was one of the topics i talked about in a chance meeting with george karl the day after he and golden state decided to go their separate ways. he had some time to kill, and i had questions. i'm a fan of coach karl and have added quite a bit to his page. btw, just because i don't like joe as a player it doesn't mean i think those people in that restaurant should get away with that crapJackhammer111 (talk) 00:56, 12 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
