Rewrite

[edit]

This page had a good start, but it really needed a lot of information filled in, so I did a total rewrite. I updated the wikiproject ratings per their appropriate pages, although I'm not involved in the biography project. Please review and update! Please make this article better! Since this is one of the five oldest articles in the queue, I'll give reviewing this a shot. Wizardman 13:58, 19 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Here are the issues I found:

  • The lead needs to be expanded; as is it doesn't summarize the article much, if at all.
  • The citation needed tags need to be addressed.
  • The link for the infobox image doesn't work, and going to the flickr artist's profile doesn't show anything close to the image. Even if it was there it's using a pre-1923 tag despite showing the year as 1940. The other image is fine.
  • The early life section feels a little disjointed, partially because of how much it seemed that he did. Try and see if you make his different accomplishments and the like flow better.
  • "Shortly thereafter, Gutiérrez traveled to Chile." after when? the previous sentence started with "for a time", so the chronology here is blurry.
  • Try and replace uses of "even", as it pops up a bit too much and hurts the text quality.
  • "In 1972, when Augusto Pinochet deposed and began a military dictatorship," missing a word.
  • A bit odd that Hamlet doesn't have a translation year when the others do.

I'll place the article on hold for a week, then do another read through, since the prose feels disjointed at times, and it may take me another look to find the rest of the issues. Wizardman 01:50, 24 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

After a week+ I haven't heard anything and no progress has been made, so I'm closing this as a failed GA. Wizardman 00:14, 4 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
