[edit]

There seems to be a confusion regarding the Swedish language links. Swedish is the oficcial language of Sweden and Swedish is one of the two official and national languages of the Republic of Finland. Yet, somhow there seems to be an unnecessary over-scepticism regarding links in this language, the native language of the actor in question. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ‎ Fantomen73 (talkcontribs) 02:28, December 16, 2023 (UTC)

@Fantomen73: Not sure what causes you to think there is skepticism regarding links to Swedish-language sites regarding this biographical subject. You did not add any, and your non-constructive edits here that were recently reverted had nothing to do with the addition of web sites in Swedish. You'll need to be more specific. General Ization Talk 02:34, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If you are referring to the message directly above this one on this Talk page ("External links modified"), that is a 5-year-old message from a bot advising only that it had added archive URLs to the listed links so that the content will be available even if and when it is removed from the sites on which it was originally published. Our bots are incapable of skepticism. All of those links are to Swedish-language sites because most of the links in this article are to Swedish-language sites. General Ization Talk 02:48, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I am reffering to the "close connection ". Seems a bit strange, wierd and over excessive. Fantomen73 (talk) 02:52, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
What does "close connection" refer to? Are you referring to the "major contributor to this article" notice (which you attempted to remove without explanation)? That has nothing to do with the language of its linked sources. It refers to one or more specific editors who appear to be connected with the subject, and are therefore ineligible to edit the article. See WP:COI. General Ization Talk 02:59, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I am not as well versed in Wikipedia as you are, so I can only deeply appologize. My bad.
What exactly is "major contributor to this article" reffering to? It seem to imply there is foul play at hand, and from what I could tell (apparently wrongly so) that the Swedish language links were to blame. Please explain as if I know nothing, You are obviousely so much better well versed. Fantomen73 (talk) 03:04, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry, but I've explained it clearly above. I suspect there may be limitations of your fluency with the English language involved, but I cannot take the time to explain it in more detail than I have above. As I suggested above, see WP:COI. General Ization Talk 03:07, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You are correct that English is not my first language, but I would like to think I am fluent enough.
You state "5-year-old message from a bot advising only that it had added archive URLs to the listed links so that the content will be available even if and when it is removed from the sites on which it was originally published. How does this correlate to "Conflict of interest" as no one has claimed any edits are " involves contributing to Wikipedia about yourself, family, friends, clients, employers, or your financial and other relationships. Any external relationship can trigger a conflict of interest." per WP: COI. I read through the "Wikipedia:Conflict of interest" closely, and it does not include achived URLs, it clearly details paied editing and conflinct of interest, Nothing about achived links (or Swedish language links)
You might be a native speaker, but nothing in the achiving links equal conflic of interest. If so, please explain. Fantomen73 (talk) 03:21, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The message from the bot and the "major contributor to this article" notice are unrelated to each other. The "major contributor to this article" notice is indeed a claim that one or more editors appear to have attempted to violate that policy, and that other editors should be alert to that activity. You should not remove the notice. General Ization Talk 03:23, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough my friend, thank you for explaining. I truly appreciate it.
How can one ascertain what this claim was? Nothing in the Natterquist entry seems out out order at all. This seems to have been added in April 2023, if anything this makes it seem as if something is at fault or erroneous. All the links back up anything written on the Natterqvist entry, all from acceptable and reputable sources. Fantomen73 (talk) 03:46, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It is likely that any edits made by the editor(s) suspected of COI have been removed from the current article. I regret that I do not have the time to analyze the edit history of the article to satisfy your curiosity as to the specific edits that triggered the notice. General Ization Talk 03:50, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That could very likely be the case. I hope you will take all the relevant factors regarding the situation into consideration. Thank you so much for your patience. Fantomen73 (talk) 03:58, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
