I've readded the COI tag to this article. Joselfartist (talk·contribs) has admitted to being the subject of the article, as seen here [1]. In addition, I'm adding an UNREF tag to the article because it doesn't appear to have any proper references. Dayewalker (talk) 21:50, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm putting in the bit about being a bunny girl. It's well-sourced, and there have been no complaints so far about the long-term inclusion of the article link that says it [2]. Gordonofcartoon (talk) 01:10, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Addendum: could we find out what the consensus is on this? Yes, WP:BLP says "Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a tabloid paper; it is not our job to be sensationalist". But OTOH this isn't some tabloid rumour; it comes from a high-profile article in The Times. Gordonofcartoon (talk) 01:17, 12 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I really don't see the need for this even if it is sourced and true it has very little bearing on her artistic career. WP:BLP states
Biographies of living persons must be written conservatively, with regard for the subject's privacy. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a tabloid paper; it is not our job to be sensationalist, or to be the primary vehicle for the spread of titillating claims about people's lives. The possibility of harm to living subjects is one of the important factors to be considered when exercising editorial judgment.
and I think we should respect this.
If Jo's reading this it would be better if she could stick to one username, using multiple usenames can causes all sorts of problems see WP:SOCK. --Salix (talk): 01:19, 12 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with Gordon, while it may not seem to be necessary in a scholarly examination of her works, in an article about the artist it certainly seems noteworthy. The author of the article about Ms. Self that provides the reference appears to think so. Dayewalker (talk) 01:45, 12 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
As it's in the title of the article and is presented as a story of transformation, it seems to be notable. Perhaps it could be phrased in in a way that is more consistent with the article's discussion of her becoming an artist. This would make it seem less gratuitous. Just sayin' that joself.org seems not to exist -I've tried it from the page & from google hits & a blog that links to it, but nothing - Manytexts (talk) 02:57, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
