Life in Canada / death date unknown

[edit]

This Jimmy Watson moved to Canada and briefly served as manager in Nanaimo "for several seasons, including two years in which they won the dominion championship." The Saskatoon-Star Phoenix article of 6 March 1924 is entitled 'retired soccer players now living at Vancouver' (by the Canadian Press in Vancouver). The brief bio section on Watson is in the past tense, so perhaps neither suggests he was alive or dead in 1924... but I presume he was still alive in 1924 (which contradicts the death date on wikipedia of 1915). 207.35.180.85 (talk) 17:27, 2 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A second article, this one 18 February 1933 in the Vancouver Sun, has Dave Turner recounting the same Jimmy Watson that "control(ed) the strings" in 1923 with Nanaimo en route to winning the Dominion of Canada Championship (Connaught Cup). As such, further research required to find out when footballer Jimmy Watson passed away, but it was NOT in 1915. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.185.242.69 (talk) 01:53, 3 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
