[edit]I have removed the initial remarks as to how Mr Mansfield initially amassed the roots of his considerable fortune. the falklands story is a legendary one but it seems unsupported by any evidence whatsoever. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mountainyman (talk • contribs) 17:39, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

Cleanup
[edit]I did some cleanup work on the article but it only made it clear how much more work was needed. The article is now well referenced, and the Sunday Times and Irish Times articles both include good profiles on the man. The article does not yet explain much about his business difficulties and his group being in receivership, and making it a few years out of date.
So far only the introduction mentions his media profile for planning difficulties, this could be expanded at length and written about much more clearly as controversy seems to be a recurring aspect in his business dealings.
The bits about the airport should be moved out of Personal and back into other interests, and the drug trafficking questions properly explained. His connections to Fianna Fail and the GAA are only mentioned in passing in the newspaper profiles, there might be room to expand there too.
One of the earliest version of this article mentioned that Mansfield gave to charity but did so quietly, a claim that is difficult to substantiate although it would be nice to be able to mention it in some form or another.
Help with cleanup would be appreciated. -- Horkana (talk) 00:40, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
