Managing Editor title
[edit]It should probably be noted that Ms. Abramson is managing editor for news, while John Geddes is managing editor for production, unless I have misrembered the announcement from months ago. AndreasKQ 13:44, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
WikiProject class rating
[edit]This article was automatically assessed because at least one WikiProject had rated the article as stub, and the rating on other projects was brought up to Stub class. BetacommandBot 15:41, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
New role at NYT: Executive Editor

Firing by NYTimes/Sulzberger
[edit]Someone keeps reverting edits referencing the well-sourced and extensively documented May 14, 2014 firing of Ms. Abramson from her position as Executive Editor of the New York Times and, citing an Al Jazeera report of all things, changing the wording to "stepped down." This is sheer nonsense. She did not "step down," she was unequivocally fired — dismissed if it makes you feel better, but there was nothing voluntary about it as the New York Times' own reporting shows: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/05/20/business/media/after-firing-from-times-jill-abramson-talks-about-resilience.html I can't imagine what's behind this ludicrous attempt at diluting the facts. - Howard Kurtz of Fox did a good article on this, most of which confirmed in bits and pieces of other sources I read the other day. Check it out. At my leisure was going to beef up the paragraph and/or section, should it warrant one. Also waiting to see if she'll have a statement - or lawsuit - to quote. - Speculation about a lawsuit violates BLP and should be removed. SPECIFICO talk 00:49, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
