Yes, but this is a talk page for improving the article, not on the subject of Jesus or the merits of this song. See WP:FORUM for more details. freshacconcispeaktome 03:33, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dude you're obviously not educated on the phrase. Back in the late 60's/early 70s, there was a phrase going around called "all right" and that means kool, awesome. here's an example of it:

"Thanks for lettin' me borrow yo car man, you're all right"

when you say it out loud, put emphasis on the word "all".

so they are sayin "Jesus is all right"

Watch an episode of Sanford and Son or Chico and the Man and you'll see what I'm talking about.

maybe that can be added into the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.227.141.250 (talk) 18:22, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merge/separation of different versions of same song

[edit]

Please note : The is a discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Songs/coverversions with the purpose of trying to establish a standard rule for merge/separation of different versions of the same song. You are invited to comment.--Richhoncho (talk) 22:46, 4 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Although the dc Talk song is supposed to be an "answer" to Arthur Reynolds', "Jesus Is Just Alright", it's essentially the same song, as evidenced by the writing credits for the dc Talk version being exactly the same as The Byrds and The Doobie Brothers version. As such, the Jesus Is Just Alright (dc talk song) article is totally surplus to requirements and I agree that it should be merged with the main "Jesus Is Just Alright" article as soon as possible. I am currently working my way through all of The Byrds related articles on Wikipedia, cleaning them up and making sure they meet Wikipedia guidelines and as such, I will be editing the "Jesus Is Just Alright" article at some point in the next week or two. Therefore I am more than happy to take care of the merging of these two articles - just somebody let me know that the merge has been agreed upon and I'll do it. This article repeats much information found in the article on the song. IMO, this should be merged into main article on the song.Bflood (talk) 17:17, 9 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
After waiting for more than six months since the original proposal and in accordance with the somewhat limited consensus of editors on this talk page, I have today performed the merger of "Jesus Is Just Alright (song)" into this article. --Kohoutek1138 (talk) 15:09, 17 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
To add a late voice to the question - since the article is about the song, having a more detailed look at the more prominent versions of the song seems appropriate within one article as opposed to a reader tracking down the various articles where the song is mentioned.THX1136 (talk) 14:52, 1 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Was DC Talk's version a bona fide single release?

[edit]

I'm just wondering if anyone knows whether or not DC Talk's version of "Jesus Is Just Alright" was released as a commercially available single? The article states that it was the lead single from the Free at Last album but the track listing section only mentions a U.S. radio promo and a Japanese radio promo. This makes me wonder if perhaps the single was only distributed to radio stations to promote the album, rather than being given a full-blown release. Does anyone know? If it was given a proper commercial release, can anyone provide the track listing for the regular U.S. CD single? --Kohoutek1138 (talk) 14:43, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Since Allmusic have changed the syntax of their URLs, 1 link(s) used in the article do not work anymore and can't be migrated automatically. Please use the search option on http://www.allmusic.com to find the new location of the linked Allmusic article(s) and fix the link(s) accordingly, prefereably by using the {{Allmusic}} template. If a new location cannot be found, the link(s) should be removed. This applies to the following external links:

I found this link by doing a search at AllMusic - https://www.allmusic.com/search/all/Jesus%20is%20Just%20Alright%20cover%20versions

I am unsure as to how to place it in the article according to the above instructions. I'm also thinking this is not exactly what was intended as far as finding a working link to the articles. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.THX1136 (talk) 15:05, 1 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
