There was a lot of talk about Allison when he resigned from Novell a few months ago. Back then, I noticed that he had no wikipedia entry. There was another article on Slashdot today that reminded me to check, and since the page was still not there, I added it. Unfortunately, I do not know the guy personally (even if he worked at HP for a while), and he seems to be a bit elusive (no public bio or resume that I could find). I could not even find when HP hired him. So I leave the article in "stub" state, hoping that folks with better knowledge will fill the gaps. I'll send him e-mail, suggesting to add some data to it.
