Hunter chose to run for office in order to increase the number of women running. "We stand for more women running and winning, and I believe I can run and win." She believes in giving more federal money to cities, and in income splitting. [1]

Chianello, a columnist for the Ottawa Citizen, says that she doesn't take Green party members seriously and that none of them has a chance of winning, pointing out that Hunter's official campaign launch was two weeks into a five-week campaign and featured a drumming session. [2] Hoedeman, Hunter's director of communications, countered that the campaign office had already been open before the official launch, that the official launch was delayed a few days out of respect for the passing of Marion Dewar, and that the drumming was to raise the morale of campaign volunteers. [3] (Marion Dewar, former mayor of Ottawa, was the mother of one of the candidates in the riding.[4]) Hunter says she's running an "inspiring, engaging, innovative and fun" campaign. [2]

I suggest adding the above material to this article. I've tried to write it according to WP:NPOV. I'm a regular Wikipedian but because of privacy I don't wish to associate my pseudonym with this article. I'm a volunteer with the Jen Hunter campaign, which is why I've decided to refrain from editing the article directly per WP:COI. 70.48.50.161 (talk) 00:44, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect

[edit]

Per the decision of the rfd discussion, I have changed the page to a redirect to Green_Party_candidates,_2008_Canadian_federal_election#Ottawa_Centre and moved an abreviated version of relevant information and references to that page. Nutiketaiel (talk) 17:06, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
