Notable?
[edit]1991 Metanoia, a new direct route on the Eiger's north face, that he opened solo and without bolts
Speaking as a climber, a climb doesn't count unless you climb off the mt. alive he called for a helicopter to lift him off the top of this one, = half a climb — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.9.22.214 (talk) 22:25, 16 January 2015 (UTC)
- He did climb the entire route from bottom to top. He left his rucksack and free soloed the last 80 meters to the top to be saved by a helicopter, so, he made it. Akseli9 (talk) 22:31, 16 January 2015 (UTC)
Wrong George Lowe?
[edit]I think that it was his brother that he climbed with in the '70s, not the New Zealander that I linked to. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.57.108.227 (talk) 06:44, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
- George (IV) is Jeff's cousin, not brother. 171.66.170.117 (talk) 19:21, 3 April 2012 (UTC)
